Background:
Effective November 30, 2012, this event should be used whenever your motion is to amend a document filed with the court. To "amend" an order, please use one of the following events :
- Motion to Alter/ Amend Judgement Order
- Motion for Relief From Judgment Order
- Motion to Vacate Order
- Motion to Vacate Dismissal
- Motion to Vacate Discharge
- Motion to Dismiss Case and Vacate Discharge
Do not use this event when your motion is to amend a:

Plan; See Motion to Modify Plan.

Motion/Application; See Amended Motion/Application.

Claim; See Motion to Modify Claim
Step-by-Step Procedures:

Select [Bankruptcy>Motions/Applications]

Enter case number and click Next

Select Amend from pick list and click Next

Select Party from party pick list or Add/create new party

Click Next
The Attorney/Party Association screen may appear. Click Here for more information

Warning will display:
REMINDER: The title of your proposed order should match the title of your motion. Please remember to attach your proposed order and select the category Proposed Order. If attaching more than 1 proposed order, please add the specific title in the description field. Example Proposed Order - Relief from Stay Proposed Order - Dismiss Case.
WARNING:This event cannot be used to amend/modify an order, plan or claim.
For orders, please select Motion to Alter/Amend Judgment Order or Motion for Relief from Judgment Order
For plan, please select Modify Plan
For claim, please select Modify Claim .

The PDF Document selection screen will display.
- Browse, Scan and Attach
- Click Next
- When applicable, attach the proposed order

A list of docket entries displays. Select the event you are amending.

Insert hearing date, time and select location and click Next

The Modify Text Editing screen will display. Click the down arrow to select a prefix for the Motion if applicable.
Click Next

The
Final Text screen will display. This is your final opportunity to modify the entry before submitting the filing.
Basic Example:
Notice of Motion and Motion to Amend (related document(s)[5] Certification of Notice to Consumer Debtor(s)) Filed by name on behalf of name. Hearing scheduled for 11/30/2012 at 11:00 AM at 219 South Dearborn, Courtroom 680, Chicago, Illinois 60604. (Attachments: # (1) Proposed Order) (name)

The Notice of Electronic Filing will display. It is the verification that the filing has been sent electronically to the court.
Copies of this notice and the document filed are emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case. You have a period of 15 days for a one time free look at the document filed.
