Effective August 2, 2016, pursuant to Local Rule 2090-5 “any other appearance must be filed by the attorney appearing using forms prescribed by the district court.” Therefore the local form Appearance has been replaced with the prescribed U. S. District Court, Attorney Appearance Form.

 

There are 3 possible scenarios when an appearance is filed;

 

 

 

 

During the filing process you will be prompted to complete a text box according to who your appearance is being filed on behalf of.

 

 

Step-by-Step Procedures:


  1. Select [Bankruptcy or Adversary>Other]

  1. Enter case number and click Next

 

  1. Select Appearance from event pick list and click Next

 

  1. Select Party you represent from party pick list or Add/Create New Party and click Next

The Attorney/Party Association screen may display.  If it does, click here.

 

  1. Click Next

This warning will display:

ALERT: This event should ONLY be used if you are filing an Appearance per Local Rule 2090-5.

If you are filing a Notice of Appearance and Request for Notice, please back up and select that event.

Click Next

The PDF Document selection screen will display.

  1. Click Browse button and navigate to locate the appropriate document/file

 

  1. View file to verify the correct file is being selected

 

  1. Click Open button and filename will appear in the browse window

  1. Click Next

The following statement will appear;

Do not complete this field if filing the appearance only for yourself. If filing this appearance for an attorney other than yourself, or for yourself and others, enter the name(s) of the attorney(s).

  1. Complete the text box according to your filing

  2. Click Next

The Modify Text screen will display.  Click down arrow to select a prefix if applicable.

  1. Click Next

The Final Text screen will display.  This is your final opportunity to modify the entry before submitting the filing.

  1. Verify the accuracy of the docket text.  If not correct/if correct

 

  1. Click Next to complete filing process

 

 

The Notice of Electronic Filing will display.  It is the verification that the filing has been sent electronically to the court.

 

Copies of this notice and the document filed are emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.  You have a period of 15 days for a one timefree look at the document filed.
