  1. PDF File Size Requirements;

    • Electronically created PDF's should not exceed 7 megabytes (7MB) in size. Files that exceed 7MB will cause the filing process to stop. If your PDF is greater than 7MB you must break it into multiple smaller files.
    • Scanned documents should not exceed 50 pages per PDF or 7MB in size. Files that exceed 50 scanned pages must be broken into multiple smaller files.
    • If you scanned document is less than 50 pages and more than 7 megabytes in size, adjust your scanner settings to:
      • Black and white mode
      • Density / resolution to 300 dots per inch
      • Page size to default to 8.5." x 11"
  1. Document Continued;

    When uploading a large document that must be broken down into multiple pdf files, select the option "Document Continued" from the attachment pick list as the name of the attachment.

  1. BNC notices;

    E-filers do not receive notices processed by the Bankruptcy Noticing Center. They only receive the Notice Electronic Filing (NEF) via their email when the event is entered on the case docket.

  1. Discovery Materials Not to be Filed Except by Order;

    (Local Rule 7026-1)

    Except as provided by this Rule, Rule 7037 - 1 or order of court, discovery materials must not be filed with the clerk. The party serving discovery materials must retain the originals and be custodian of them. An original deposition must be retained by the part who ordered it. The court, on its own motion, on motion of any party, or on motion by a non-party, may require the filing of any discovery materials or may make provision for a person to obtain a copy of discovery material at the person's own expense.

  1. Filing Summary of Assets and Liabilities, Schedules, Statement of Financial Affairs etc;

    • The only time it is okay to file the above documents as a group is when they are filed with the original bankruptcy petition.

    • If these documents are later filed, each must be filed as a separate filing. Each documents has a specific event in ECF that must be used.

  1. Objections to Confirmation of the chapter 11, 12 or 13 plans;

    • Use the correct event:
      • Bankruptcy > Plan > Objection to Confirmation of Plan
    • File this document first and then file the Notice of Filing
    • Relate the Notice of Filing to the Objection
    • Do not file it with a Notice of Hearing or Notice of Motion
  1. Notice of Filing;

    • This document should be filed as a separate filing. Do not include it with the pdf of the related document.
    • File the related document first then the notice of filing.
    • Relate the notice of filing to the related document

  1. Notice of Motion or Notice of Hearing;

    • A Notice of Motion or Notice of Hearing and a Proposed Fillable Order must accompany all motions or applications.
  1. Objections to Debtor's Claim of Exemption;

    • File this document with the event Objection to Claim of Exemptions with Notice of Hearing
    • Do not file it with a Notice of Filing or Notice of Motion
  1. Objections to Claims;

  2. Multi - Part Motions;

    • If you are filing a motion with multiple reliefs, the motion title must reflect all reliefs
    • Each motion relief must be selected from the motion event list in CMECF
    • Only one proposed order is required unless you are asking for alternative relief
    • If the motion title includes the language "in addition to" or " in the alternative", this language should be selected from the modify text pick list to ensure the docket entry reads properly.
  1. Adversary Status Hearing;
    • When selecting the location of the status hearing, the hearing must be set in the same location for hearings of the related bankruptcy case
    • Enter hearing date for the summons no less than 35 days from the date of filing the adversary
  2. Request for Issuance of Alias Summons; (paperless event)
  3. Printing Mailing Matrix Labels:
