Local Rule

Effective September 30, 2013

In order to comply with District Court Local Rule 3.1, E-filers should include a Civil Cover Sheet as an attachment to any Notice of Appeal, Notice of Appeal, and Motion for Leave to Appeal, or Withdrawal of Reference.  The Civil Cover Sheet can be obtained from the District Court website.

 

You will be prompted to pay the required filing fee after your filing has been completed.

 

Step-by-Step Procedures:

  1. Select [Bankruptcy or Adversary> Appeal]

  2. Enter Case Number and click Next

  3. Select Notice of Appeal from event pick list and click Next

  4. Select party you represent from party pick list or Add/Create New Party

  5. Click Next

    The Attorney/Party Association screen may display.  If it does, click here.

  6. Click Next

  7. Click Next

  8. Click Browse button and navigate to locate the appropriate document/file

    View file to verify the correct file is being selected

    Click the Open button and filename will appear in the browse window

  9. Click Next

    The next page requires you to relate your Notice of Appeal to an existing order.

  10. Click Refer to existing event(s) box

  11. Click Next

  12. The category page will display.

    Appellant Designation and Transmission of Appeal to District Court due dates will display. These dates are automatically calculated by the system

    • Select the category to which your event relates
    • Click Next

    Completion of the Filed and Documents fields is optional.   Completing of these fields will display specific entries on the next page.

  13. Click box next to the order being appealed

  14. Click Next

  15. Complete the text box with the name of court the order is being appeal to and Click Next

    • District Court or

    • Appeal Court

  16. The filing fee is displayed on this page.  You will be prompted to pay at the end of the filing process.

    Click Next

  17. A blank screen will appear.  

    Click Next

  18. The Final Text screen will display.  This is your final opportunity to modify the entry before submitting the filing.

    Verify the accuracy of the docket text.  If not correct/if correct

  19. Click Next to complete filing process

 

Electronic Payment

You have two options:

Select one of the two options and close the window when done.


The Notice of Electronic Filing will display.  It is the verification that the filing has been sent electronically to the court.

Copies of this notice and the document filed are emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.  You have a period of 15 days for a one time free look at the document filed
