Filing in a Bankruptcy Case

Filing in an Adversary Case

 

  1. Select Bankruptcy from the main menu

  2. Select Answer/Response

  3. Select Reference an Existing motion/application

  1. Select Adversary from the main menu

  2. Select Answers

  3. Select Motion/Application

 

  1. Enter case number and click Next

  2. Select Answer from the pick list and click Next

  3. Select Party you represent from party pick list or Add/create new party if your party does not appear in the pick list.

  4. Click Next

    The Attorney/Party Association screen may display.  If it does, click here.

  1. Click Next

The PDF Document selection page will display.  You must now upload the document you are filing.

  1. Click Browse button and navigate to locate appropriate document/file

  2. View file to verify the correct file is being selected

  3. Click Open button and filename will appear in the browse window

  4. Click Next

  5. A reminder screen will displayClosedREMINDER: If you are relating to an entry on the docket, please check the box Refer to existing event(s) and choose the category and document to which your event relates

    If you are NOT relating to an entry on the docket, please describe the nature of the Answer in the box and Skip to step 17.

  6. Click Next

The page for selecting the related document category will display.  

  1. Click the category the related document was filed under

  1. Click Next

A list of docket entries will display.  

  1. Click Next

The Modify Text page will display.  If applicable, you may make a selection from one or both of the prefix boxes.

  1. Click Next

The Final Text page will display.  This is your final opportunity to modify the entry before submitting the filing.

  1. Verify the accuracy of the docket text

  2. Click Next to complete filing process

The Notice of Electronic Filing will display.  It is the verification that the filing has been sent electronically to the court.

Copies of this notice and the document filed are emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.  You have a period of 15 days for a one time free look at the document filed.
