CM/ECF Training - Registration Information
Attorneys and creditors filing in the Northern District of Illinois must register to become an efiler and complete the online training lessons and successfully complete the certification assignment. As a NextGen Court each efiler must have their own individual upgraded PACER account, that will be activated to allow the efiler to both electronically file documents and perform case look up in our court.
Before registering to become an ECF user, review the Hardware/Software Requirements and Administrative Procedures.
The court offers two ECF training options:
1) On-line Training and
2) On-site Training.
Training is offered to attorneys, creditors and support staff.
a. | If you are an attorney and would like to take the on-line training, you must be a member of the Illinois Northern District Court Bar. Click Here to complete the registration process. |

b. | If you are an attorney who is seeking Pro Hac Vice admission to the Illinois Northern Bankruptcy Court and would like to complete the on-line training, Click Here.

c. | If you are an attorney who has previously been admitted Pro Hac Vice, has a login and password to the Bankruptcy Court and wish to file another application on a new Bankruptcy Case please type in your Bankruptcy CMECF login to generate a pay.gov payment link:

The court offers two types of training classes:
- attorneys who represent debtors (4 hour class)
- attorneys who represent creditors ( 3 hour class)
Note: You are only required to attend one of the two classes offered.
