CHAPTER 13 BANKRUPTCY TIMELINE
Day 1:
File Bankruptcy Petition with Court & Pay Filing Fees
Day 13 to 33:
1. Provide Tax Returns and Payment Advices to Ch 13 Trustee 7 days
BEFORE
Meeting of Creditors
2. Start making plan payments to Chapter 13 trustee
Day 50 to 75:
Chapter 13 Plan Confirmation Hearing will be held and the Chapter 13 Plan will be Confirmed, Denied, or Continued for further hearing
If or when the Plan is Confirmed:
Order Confirming Plan will be entered and payments pursuant to the plan will continue for 3 to 5 years from the date of filing
Years 3.5 – 5.5
1. Trustee files Final Report
2. Court enters Discharge Order
3. Court Closes the Case
Before Filing Bankruptcy:

Complete Credit Counseling Course
Day 1 to 14:
File Certificate of Credit Counseling (one for each debtor), Lists, Schedules & Statements
(if not already filed with petition on Day 1)
Day 21 to 50:
Must
attend Meeting of Creditors also called 341(a) Meeting
Years 3 – 5:
1. Plan Payments are completed.
2. Notice of Completion of Plan Payments will be filed by the Trustee.
3. File Certificate of Personal Financial Management (one for each debtor)
4. File Domestic Support Obligation
