Deleting Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History

These instructions are for users using Internet Explorer as a browser.

 

Your computer and internet browser software attempt to optimize your use of the internet by saving information about the sites you visit in these specialized files.  On occasion the computer will become confused as to which is correct and most current, the data coming from the web site or the local cookie and internet files.

 

Step-by-step procedures:

  1. Launch Internet Explorer

  2. Click Tools on the top tool bar

  3. Click Internet Options

The internet option box will display.

  1. Click the Delete button under Browsing history

The Delete Browsing History box will display.

  1. Click the Delete all button

A box will display asking if you are sure want to delete all Internet Explorer browsing history.

  1. Click Yes

A Delete Browsing History box will display.  Once all of your temporary files have been deleted, the box will automatically close.

  1. Click OK to close the Internet Options box
