Summons Service Unexecuted

Background: 

Summons Serviced Unexecuted is the only event to use when the Summons was not served.

Step-by-Step Procedures:

  1. Select [Adversary>Complaint/Summons]

  2. Enter Adversary case number and click Next

    Note:  This event can not be filed on a bankruptcy case.

    • Click Next

  3. Select Summons Service Unexecuted (Choose only if Summons was not Served)  from pick list

    • Click Next

    • Click Next

  4. The PDF screen will display

  5. Select a Certificate of Service selection from the drop-down menu

    Note: If "Certificate of Service is Amended" is selected, add "Amended" to the PDF

    • Click Next

    • Click Next

  6. The party screen will display: 

    • Select the Defendant's name

      Note:  If there are multiple defendants, select the appropriate defendants who were served.

    • Click Next

  1. A Related screen will display: 

    • If one entry displays: Do not un-check the box

    •  If multiple entries display:  Check the appropriate Summons / Alias Summons Issued for the defendant(s) who were served

    • Click Next

  2. A blank screen will display

    • Click Next

    • Verify the accuracy of the docket text

    • Click Next

     

The Notice of Electronic Filing will display.  It is the verification that the filing has been sent electronically to the court.

Copies of this notice and the document filed are emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.  You have a period of 15 days for a one time free look at the document filed.
