Summons Service Executed

Background:
Summons Service Executed is the only event to use filing a Certificate of Service for a Summons or Alias Summons
The Summons Service Executed pdf file should consist of:
Copy of electronically Issued Summons
Certificate of Service
The pdf file can be created by:
Scanning the documents or
Merging the two files into one pdf file (See Merging Issued Summons and Certificate of Service).
Step-by-Step Procedures:

Select [Adversary>Complaint/Summons]

Enter Adversary case number and click Next
Note: This event can not be filed on a bankruptcy case.

WARNING: If you are filing an original complaint, please back up and select Open an AP case.

Click Next

Select Summons Service Executed from pick list

Click Next

The PDF Document selection screen will display.

Click Next

Make a selection from the Certificate of Service drop down menu.
Note: If "Certificate of Service is Amended" is selected, add "Amended" to the PDF

Click Next

A
reminder will display.
REMINDER: On the next screen, please select only the name of a defendant(s)

Click Next

Select the defendant's name
Note: If there are multiple defendants, select the appropriate defendants who were served.

Click Next

A Related screen will appear with the Summons Issued entry displayed.

If one entry displays: Do not un-check the box

If multiple entries display: Check the appropriate Summons / Alias Summons Issued for the defendant(s) who were served

Click Next

A blank page will display

The
Final Text screen will display. This is your final opportunity to modify the entry before submitting the filing.

Verify the accuracy of the docket text

The Notice of Electronic Filing will display. It is the verification that the filing has been sent electronically to the court.
Copies of this notice and the document filed are emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case. You have a period of 15 days for a one time free look at the document filed.
